Job summary

An educational recruitment agency is looking for a Sports Coach to work in Wythenshawe. You will deliver PE and coaching sessions while supporting students with diverse needs. About the School

Prospero Teaching is looking for a confident and energetic Sports Coach for a school in Wythenshawe.

You will be needed to deliver PE sessions and coaching sessions in the gym, taking students to sports activities such as boxing and trampolining.

You must be confident in implementing the school sport programme effectively promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles and be a perfect role model for pupils who are disengaged with their studies.

The school is for students in a secondary school, many of whom have found it difficult to study in a mainstream school and some with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school is a provision for a range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, Asperger's syndrome, speech and language difficulties and severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties, for example, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

The position is open to all experienced and those who have a strong background in delivering and mentoring sports to children and young adults. Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • Previous experience delivering sports sessions
  • GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
  • Team Teach qualified (or signed up to attend the agency)
Eligibility through Prospero Teaching
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
