Sports Coach - SEMH Provision (SEN School, Salford)

Contract: 6-month fixed term (potential for extension)

Are you a passionate Sports Coach looking to make a real impact? We're looking for an enthusiastic, hands‑on practitioner to join a highly supportive SEN school in Salford, working within their SEMH provision. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your coaching background and transferable skills to support children with a range of needs, helping them engage, regulate and thrive through physical activity.

What you'll be doing:
  • Using sport and movement to support engagement, behaviour regulation and confidence‑building
  • Working closely with pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Leading small group or 1:1 physical activities tailored to individual EHCP targets
  • Supporting teachers and pastoral staff to create positive, structured learning environments
  • Acting as a role model, mentor and motivator for pupils who need consistency and encouragement
What we're looking for:
  • Background in sports coaching or physical activity leadership
  • Experience working with children or young people (SEN/SEMH experience desirable)
  • A calm, resilient and proactive approach
  • Strong behaviour management, communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Someone who thrives in a practical, active, hands‑on role
