A renowned healthcare provider is seeking an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor to join their Anaesthetic and Intensive Care Team in Macclesfield. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment alongside experienced staff, focusing on high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include delivering anaesthetic services and managing patients during on-call shifts. This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the 'ECT Family' – this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, both NHSP and ECT bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Specialty Doctor to join our Anaesthetic and Intensive Care Team at Macclesfield District General Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a dynamic and supportive department, working alongside experienced Consultants, Associate Specialists, Specialty Doctors, ST3+ trainees and Core Trainees. We deliver a high‑quality, patient‑focused service in a modern, well‑equipped District General Hospital. You will join a team of 24 middle‑grade anaesthetists, providing flexible cover across three 1:8 rotas – Obstetrics, Emergency CEPOD/Trauma and ICU.
12.7 PAs per week. The role includes a 1 in 8 on‑call rota with both first and second on‑call duties, resident on‑call cover for theatres and Intensive Care, and management of ICU and peri‑operative patients during on‑call shifts.

Applicants must have an Enhanced with Barred list DBS check; the cost of which is payable by the successful candidate. If you have lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years you will need to obtain an overseas police clearance.
NHS Medical and Dental salaries are set at a national level. For new starters not already working under UK Medical and Dental terms and conditions, they will be appointed to the minimum paypoint. The starting salary paypoint can only be increased when there is evidence of relevant, completed years’ experience in terms of nature, type and level of role. Evidence required to increase a starting salary would be payslips and details noted in the application form i.e. complete employment history.
