Are you a dedicated and passionate Social Worker looking to make a positive impact in the lives of adults within our community? West Berkshire Council's Adult Social Care Team is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our dynamic and supportive team, reporting to the Team Leader.

The Role

As a Social Worker within the Adult Social Care Team, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting assessments and reviews of individuals' social care needs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality person-centred care.
  • Working collaboratively with service users, their families, and other professionals to develop and implement appropriate support plans.
  • Advocating for the rights and wishes of individuals, promoting independence and enabling access to a range of services.
  • Providing information, advice, and guidance to service users and their carers.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of services through participation in team meetings, supervision, and professional development.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working in an adult social care setting, with a sound understanding of the challenges and complexities involved.
  • Excellent assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with service users, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, managing a caseload and prioritising tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks governing adult social care.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in reflective practice.
