Job description
Overview

SEMH Teacher - 1 to 1 / Small Class (Secondary) | SEMH Teacher (Secondary) - Preston

Prospero Teaching is working with a brilliant Secondary Age SEMH provision in Preston who are currently looking for a full-time, temp to perm teacher to support a student in developing academically, primarily in English and Maths. QTS is a bonus, but at minimum you must have experience teaching, and knowledge around a secondary curriculum. Experience with SEN (mainly around SEMH, ASD, ADHD) is strongly preferred due to the needs of the students.

This school caters for secondary aged pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Some students on roll also have autism, ADHD, ACES/Trauma & display challenging behaviour. You will be working mostly in a 1 to 1 capacity with individual students, however there may also be small group work involved. Although you will need to prep and mark, your focus will only be on one, or sometimes a small number of students and so the workload is significantly less intense than a standard full-size classroom.

Due to the size of the school and expectations of the role, unfortunately this position does not pay to scale.
