Job summary

A leading construction contractor in the UK is looking for a Site Manager to oversee a 3-year framework project focusing on externals, kitchen, and bathroom refurbishments. The successful candidate will manage site activities, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, while also leading a team of operatives and subcontractors. A minimum of 5 years' experience in similar roles along with relevant qualifications, including a Gold CSCS Card, is essential. This position is located in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Site Management, especially in planned maintenance and refurbishment.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

A well‑established, Tier 1, fast‑paced and ambitious construction, and maintenance contractor with a great reputation for providing excellent services to clients.

Role

The role is on a brand‑new contract which involves a 3‑year framework working on an Externals project, looking at Windows and Doors and Kitchen and Bathrooms. As Site Manager, you will manage and control on‑site activities the course of this project, including external and planned work. The work will be on sites across Cambridge so local to the area is required.

Responsibilities

• Accountability for all daily operational activity and the management of operatives and sub‑contractors
• Identifying, reviewing and implementing the client’s critical success factors for the project
• Ensuring that the quality and programme standards are delivered, avoiding any post‑completion defects
• Ensuring high standards of safety and quality are always maintained
• Ensuring project delivery plan is followed to cost and time‑frame expectations

Site Managers play a vital role in the successful delivery of these refurbishment works.

Key Experience needed

• Previous experience with External planned works, Kitchen and Bathrooms, Windows and Doors. Minimum 5 years’ experience is also desirable
• Planned Maintenance and refurbishment experience required
• In‑date First Aid certificate is needed
• Construction‑related NVQ / HNC Level 4 and above. Gold CSCS Card required
• Relevant CSCS card and SMSTS certificate
• Sound knowledge and compliance with health and safety requirements
• Full UK driving licence
• Membership of or working towards RICS/MCIOB would be advantageous
