We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Chemical and Biological Engineering for a Senior Technician to support our Bio‑Laboratory Operations. We’re looking for a motivated technician to deliver outstanding technical support to staff, students, and external clients. You’ll be at the heart of our research and teaching, ensuring every project runs smoothly.

  • Calibrate, operate, and maintain a variety of general and specialist instruments.
  • Deliver training sessions and demonstrations on equipment use and safe laboratory practices.
  • Ensure all relevant records and documentation are accurately maintained.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of providing an effective and efficient technical support service in a life sciences laboratory setting and a theoretical and practical understanding of chromatographic techniques (HPLC, mass spectrometry). They will be the holder of a ISTR Biosafety Practitioner Level 1 Qualification and will have a Technical Professional Registration or the willingness to work towards it.
