Overview

Are you passionate about delivering high quality, engaging, respectful and dignified care and support to older people? We are looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join our management team in Carlisle. As a Senior Support Worker you will care for residents as though they are family, addressing their physical, psychological and social needs. You will assist residents with personal care activities including personal hygiene, dressing and meals, and support them to participate in activities.

As a Senior Support Worker you will support the management of a small 27-bed residential care home in Carlisle. The service provides 24-hour support for older adults who require additional care and support, but do not require specialist nursing care. The Laurels has received multiple awards in recent years and maintains a strong track record of positive feedback from residents and families.

The service is located on a main public transport route with regular buses in and around the area.

Responsibilities
  • Support the management of a 27-bed residential care home in Carlisle, providing 24-hour care and support for residents who do not require specialist nursing care.
  • Care for residents with physical, psychological and social needs, treating them with dignity and respect.
  • Assist residents with personal care activities including personal hygiene, dressing and meals; support engagement in activities.
  • Lead and work as part of a team to ensure high standards of care and compliance with service policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience of leading a team and qualifications in care are essential (Level 2 or above).
  • Previous experience in a care home environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including daytimes, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Full training is provided, with opportunity to work towards a QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.
  • Evidence of vaccination needs to be demonstrated as part of the pre-employment process.
