Overview

Senior Structural Engineer – Pick Everard, Manchester. We are expanding our Structural Engineering team and seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to work on a range of exciting projects across multiple sectors in a collaborative, dynamic environment. You will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to a variety of projects and undertake site survey work. The role focuses on the design and management of a diverse range of projects including health, education, commercial, custodial and residential.

You will take on and lead responsibility for project delivery, ensuring high quality, on time, and on budget. There are opportunities to achieve chartered status with mentors for IStructE and ICE, and access to regular workshops and seminars as part of the chartership process.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver projects to a high standard, on time and within budget.
  • Participate in a wide and varied workload including health, education, commercial, custodial and residential sectors.
  • Undertake site surveys and liaise with clients and the design team to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the team to manage design and coordination across disciplines.
  • Mentor and assist in the chartership process where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Structural design experience in a similar role in steel, concrete, timber & masonry.
  • Structural surveying experience.
  • Good verbal communication – able to discuss work, liaise with clients and team members, coach and supervise.
  • Experience with computer software relevant to the role (Tekla, Tedds, SCIA, AutoCAD).
  • Able to carry out site inspections.
  • Incorporated/Chartered membership of ICE or IStructE (desirable).
  • Understanding of forms of appointment and construction contracts.
  • Strong report-writing and presentation skills; high-level technical appreciation.
