Overview

Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Based near Wakefield
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

This is an opportunity to join a highly-respected, industry-leading multidisciplinary consultancy offering expert design services to high-profile projects across civil, structural, and geotechnical landscapes. The Senior Structural Engineer will lead a growing team of specialist colleagues in the structural design of commercial, industrial, health, leisure, retail, and residential projects near Wakefield and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Design structures across sectors including commercial, industrial, and residential
  • Lead and deliver high-profile projects from inception to delivery
  • Build, maintain, and manage stakeholder relations within the public and private sectors
  • Represent the company at design team meetings and site visits
Required skills and experience
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering (or related field)
  • Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE) status, or actively working towards it
  • UK-based consultancy experience
  • Experience with new-build projects; knowledge of foundation and retaining wall design
  • Excellent working knowledge of structural materials and their uses
  • Proficiency in preparing calculation packages
  • Competency in TEKLA, TEDDS, and AutoCAD
  • Experience in preparing structural engineering inspection reports for various building types/structures
  • Good understanding of Eurocodes and relevant technical standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders across public and private sectors
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience
  • Experience in roads and sewer design
  • Knowledge of Revit
