Responsibilities


  • Provide leadership to junior nursing staff and healthcare assistants, ensuring high standards of care delivery.

  • Mentor and support the professional development of staff, offering guidance and direction in clinical practice.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for paediatric patients, ensuring individualised, evidence-based care is delivered.

  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly to ensure the best outcomes.

  • Work closely with doctors, consultants, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to paediatric patients.

  • Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and contribute to decision-making regarding treatment plans.

  • Educate families and patients about medical conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.

  • Offer emotional support to families, addressing concerns and ensuring they feel informed and involved in the care process.

  • Ensure all nursing care is delivered in compliance with healthcare policies, NMC guidelines, and relevant legislation.

  • Actively contribute to audits, risk assessments, and maintain high standards of infection control and patient safety.
