The Senior Manager, Customer solutions, Data Center & AI Factory will lead the design, development, and execution of advanced technical solutions programs that enable hyperscale and enterprise customers to leverage Vantage's data center and AI infrastructure capabilities. This role combines strategic vision with hands‑on technical expertise to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions for next‑generation workloads, including AI/ML environments.
Responsibilities
- Drive solution architecture for AI Factory deployments and advanced data center designs aligned with customer requirements and Vantage's roadmap.
- Partner with Sales and Solutions Engineering teams to lead presales activities, focusing on hyperscale cloud providers, AI innovators, and enterprise customers.
- Develop proposals and technical documentation incorporating latest schematics, diagrams, and AI‑ready features.
- Engineer solutions that optimize power, cooling, and space utilization for high‑density AI clusters.
- Work closely with Development, Operations, and Sustainability teams to ensure alignment on build schedules and capacity planning.
- Coordinate with Senior Director, New Development (Europe) to maintain visibility on all projects.
- Introduce best practices for AI workload hosting, liquid cooling, and energy efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational excellence.
- Deliver technical presentations, architectural overviews, and guided tours of facilities.
- Conduct in‑depth assessments of customer IT environments for AI readiness.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in data center design, AI infrastructure, and critical environments.
- Ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable solutions.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage with internal teams and C‑level customer stakeholders.
- Expertise in wholesale data centers, colocation, interconnection, cloud ecosystems, and AI compute environments.
- Familiarity with high‑density power and cooling solutions, sustainability initiatives, and emerging technologies for AI workloads.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in data center design and critical infrastructure.
- Knowledge of AI compute requirements, GPU clusters, and high‑performance networking.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (including remote collaboration).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and see both detail and big picture.
- Strategic thinker with problem‑solving ability. Continuous improvement and innovation‑driven mindset.
- Preferred: Experience in environments requiring high reliability (e.g., nuclear plants, hospitals) and familiarity with sustainability and ESG principles.
