Job description

Staffright Group are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of commercial construction projects on site. The successful candidate will be a confident leader, acting as the main client interface while managing teams, subcontractors, health & safety, quality and programme delivery to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

Location: In and around Northeast Cambridge and West Norfolk

Personal Attributes & Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients and supply chain partners.
  • Highly self-motivated with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • Ability to assist the Contracts Manager and manage junior site team members.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Full responsibility for daily running and organisation of commercial construction sites.
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve site issues efficiently.
  • Maintain orderly and accurate site records and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel across the operating region and lodge away when required.
Experience & Technical Requirements
Time Management
  • Control the progression of works by scheduling trades in line with construction programmes on commercial sites.
  • Develop short-term programmes with awareness of risk management challenges (experience with ASTA Powerproject desirable).
Cost Control
  • Work within project budgets.
  • Review and manage subcontractor variations.
  • Control site labour and subcontractors cost-effectively.
Quality
  • Interpret drawings and specifications accurately for commercial builds.
  • Maintain exceptional workmanship standards and detailed quality records.
Health & Safety
  • Strong working knowledge of current UK H&S regulations.
  • Implement and manage site Health & Safety plans across commercial projects.
  • Oversee all on-site safety compliance.
