Job description

BDS is a small independent and innovative market research consultancy specialising in the construction materials and waste sectors. The company provide consultancy support for clients and publishes a wide portfolio of industry reports for key sectors of the construction industry including aggregates, asphalt, ready mixed concrete, concrete products and cement.

BDS is seeking to recruit a Senior Research Executive to join a small team based in Nottingham. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years’ experience in market research AND data analysis with an interest and passion to learn more about the construction and waste industry. You should be confident in Excel, competent at preparing clear and concise reports and able to deliver high class attention to detail. An understanding of the market area would be beneficial but is not essential as market understanding will be given in the role.

The role of Senior Research Executive at BDS is diverse providing a great opportunity to expand already existing skills whilst moving into a role that includes team management. As Senior Research Executive you will be expected to work on a range of projects and consultancy studies, you should have an eye for detail, understand the importance of quality control and be able to lead and support a team of likeminded individuals. You will report to the Research Director who will provide guidance and support where necessary and you will be expected to support and guide the work of others.

As Senior Research Executive you will :

• Manage small / medium scale research projects from start to finish whilst participating in the work, including report writing and data & statistical analysis.
• Support the team with the collection and review of information
• Help update and ensure industry databases are maintained appropriately
• Be an intermediary point between the BDS team and BDS Director
• Help, support and guide other members of staff to grow their skills in the field of market research whilst also growing your own understanding of construction materials and the waste industry.

Essential skills that BDS are seeking for in a candidate for the role of Senior Research Executive are :

• Ability to write concise and clear reports on market topics, identify key findings and use a mixture of sources to predict market activity.
• Confident with data, analyse and synthesise qualitative and quantitative data accurately and select significant facts from the information and findings.
• Can work independently, timely and accurately with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to be friendly but firm, ensuring work from self and others meets a define standard.
• Demonstrates good interpersonal, communication, organisational and time management skills and is motivated and willing to continually learn.

Job Type : Full-time, Permanent, Office based, Nottingham 5 days a week

Salary : From £40,000 per year (+ contributable pension, health insurance and annual bonus)
