We’re seeking a Senior Regulatory Accountant to lead financial regulatory reporting process and ensure our performance aligns with the regulatory framework. This is a pivotal role in preparing for PR29 and understanding the impact of PR19 and PR24 on our forecasts and reconciliations.

You’ll take ownership of the Annual Performance Report (APR) financial tables and work closely with Finance Business Partners to bridge the gap between International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Regulatory Accounting Guidelines (RAGs). Your ability to translate complex financial matters into meaningful insights for senior stakeholders will be key to success.

Key responsibilities

  • Translate IFRS accounts to align with Regulatory Accounting Guidelines (RAGs)
  • Develop and implement a cost allocation methodology using Tagetik to populate APR tables
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to produce internal reporting that supports regulatory understanding
  • Support the development of quarterly APR reporting to enable in-year performance tracking
  • Project manage the annual APR production and share knowledge across the finance team
  • Work with the wider business to understand outputs against budgets and regulatory expectations
As a valued employee you’ll be entitled to:
  • A competitive pension scheme where we double-match your contributions up to 6%
  • Private healthcare for your peace of mind
  • An annual bonus scheme
  • The opportunity to volunteer in your local community
  • 26 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays), increasing with service, with the option to swap Christmas and Easter for religious holidays
  • Life cover (8x your salary) and personal accident cover (up to 5x your salary)
  • Flexible benefits to support your well-being and lifestyle
  • Paid time off for illness, both physical and mental
  • Free parking at all office locations, sites, and leisure parks
  • Excellent family-friendly policies, including 26 weeks of full pay for maternity/adoption leave and 4 weeks of paternity/partner pay, with the opportunity for shared parental leave
What does it take to be successful?
  • Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and regulatory accounting standards, particularly around capital expenditure and asset accounting
  • Experience with operational assets and capital investment processes
  • Financial awareness, including capitalisation policy and capital allowances
  • Excellent IT skills, especially in SAP, Tagetik, and Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex financial matters clearly
