Job summary

A prominent engineering consultancy in Bangor is seeking a Senior / Principal Structural Engineer. You will undertake structural design calculations and support the design process with a good understanding of Tekla and CADS. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of UK experience in a multidisciplinary consultancy and is working towards Chartership. Hybrid working is available post-probation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years UK experience working within a multidisciplinary consultancy.
• Working towards Chartership with assistance from the client.
• Valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural design calculations in accordance with relevant standards and codes.
• Support the design process with a good understanding of relevant software.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and work with initiative.
• Visit sites regularly as required.

Overview

Senior / Principal Structural Engineer – Bangor

Salary: £45k-£62k DOE plus benefits. Hybrid working available following successful completion of probation. Must be based in Wales or willing to relocate for the right role.

We are working with a busy engineering practice with a network of UK offices and a growing workload. The Bangor office is led by the Technical Director and you will work closely on projects that could include private residences, education structures, local housing associations, councils and more. The turnover is fast and the team values delivering high-quality work and helping local clients realise their project aspirations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural design calculations in all traditional materials in accordance with relevant standards and codes.
• Support the design process with a good understanding of Tekla, CADS and Tedds.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and work with initiative.
• Visit sites regularly as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 5 years UK experience working within a multidisciplinary consultancy.
• Active drive and ambition with the ability to work in a team and also using own initiative.
• Working towards Chartership; the client will assist with this process.
• Valid driving licence.
