Job description

Senior DM Planning Officer required until at least end of Sept 2025 by our Local Authority client in Somerset.

You will be responsible for the processing and determination of a varied and complex caseload of planning applications, with the main focus being on applications relating to Children's Services as a fast track service.

As a Senior DM Planning Officer you will be expected to lead negotiation with developers and their agents, considering third party comments, liaise with members and draft reports for Planning Committee. On occasion you will prepare appeal statements and act as expert witness for the Local Planning Authority, in connection with planning and enforcement appeals.

We are looking for a suitably qualified Planning Officer with extensive experience in a Local Authority planning team. You must be confident in managing a busy caseload and working under minimal supervision.

Our client is offering a market leading rate of £48/hr (umbrella) and hybrid working arrangements.
