Overview

Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Basingstoke Hybrid

Salary: GBP65,000

We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a market-leading insurance company. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will have a diverse role managing the organisation's infrastructure covering technical leadership, proactive administration and playing a pivotal role in the delivery of new projects.

This role will give you the opportunity to have full autonomy on your career and delivery, supporting new ideas you can bring to the expanding business and be a part of exciting automation and AI projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own IT infrastructure operations, support, and related projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement across Cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure.
  • Lead and deliver high-profile tasks and projects.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members.
  • Support security and risk initiatives, ensuring patching and compliance.
  • Identify infrastructure weaknesses and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and manage monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues.
  • Coach and support the wider Platform team; collaborate with key vendors.
  • Deliver management information (MI) to support dashboards.
  • Help manage the team budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work closely with third-party vendors to maintain service levels.
  • Serve as an escalation point for technical issues and incidents.
Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of the Windows Server and Linux operating system
  • Expert understanding of cloud platforms - Azure (preferred), GCP and AWS
  • Expert knowledge of M365
  • Strong knowledge in Identity Management - Active Directory, EntraID, Azure AD Connect
  • Confident in the build/configuration/management of HPe hardware
  • Good understanding of core network services - DNS, DHCP, WINS, W32Time
  • Comfortable with advanced PowerShell scripting
