Job summary

A local authority partner in Hillingdon is seeking a Senior Family Engagement Officer for a 3-month contract. You will engage families at the children's centre, provide administrative support, and foster positive relationships for effective service delivery. Ideal candidates will have GCSEs including English and Maths, alongside experience in community-based environments. Strong ICT skills and excellent communication are essential. A DBS check is required for this role.

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hillingdon to assist with the appointment of a Senior Family Engagement Officer on a 3-month contract likely to be extended at the client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £16.83 - £22.02 per hour

Summary

The Senior Family Engagement Officer will engage families at the point of entry to the service, building positive working relationships to support access to local services. The role also provides front-of-house management and administrative support within a children's centre, contributing to effective service delivery and community engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Engage and support families accessing children's centre services
  • Manage reception and front-of-house operations, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment
  • Handle enquiries via telephone, email and face‑to‑face contact
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to families and signpost to appropriate services
  • Maintain and update children's centre databases, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
  • Coordinate and administer locality programmes, including ante‑natal services
Qualification
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
Essentials
  • Experience working in a busy, multi‑agency or community‑based environment
  • Strong ICT skills with the ability to learn new systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with families and professionals
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection practices

  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS.
