Senior Commercial Property Solicitor (Locum) - Up to £58/hr - Remote - South East

Panoramic Associates is working with a South East-based local authority seeking to appoint a Locum Principal Property Solicitor to join their legal services team. This role offers a high-impact opportunity within a collaborative legal department.

  • Role: Principal Property Solicitor (Locum)
  • Rate: up to £58 per hour (DOE, umbrella)
  • Contract: Initial 3 months, rolling
  • Hours: 26-37 hours per week (flexible, part-time or full-time)
  • Working Pattern: Remote options available
  • Start Date: ASAP, ideally within 2-3 weeks
Core Responsibilities:
  • Manage a complex caseload of local authority property matters independently
  • Draft and negotiate leases, licenses, transfers, agreements, and legal documentation
  • Handle commercial lease management, property disposals, appropriations, and development agreements
  • Provide legal advice on council-owned assets, including housing stock and community sites
  • Assist with CPSC inquiries and matters under s123 of the Local Government Act 1972
  • Support colleagues in the property legal team
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Qualified Solicitor with active practising certificate in England and Wales
  • 3+ years' PQE in commercial property
  • Strong understanding of local authority legal frameworks
  • Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload
