Job description
Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the pharmacy clinical team for 23 months. This fantastic opportunity is for those who have a passion for advancing our clinical pharmacy services. With the support of the lead pharmacist, the successful candidate will lead initiatives to optimise patient care in the trust. This position represents a significant opportunity for professional growth and impact within our team.

Responsibilities
  • To lead, deliver, develop and evaluate general clinical pharmacy services in accordance with the objectives and priorities agreed between the post holder, Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Services Manager in order to ensure safe, clinically effective, and cost efficient use of medicines.
  • To be a valued member of the clinical pharmacy team, work closely with the multi-disciplinary teams to provide a consistently highly specialist pharmaceutical service to patients on acute wards.
  • To provide a consistently highly pharmaceutical service for patients within a range of areas within the acute hospital wherever needed.
  • To be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the department and wider teams to ensure optimal medicines usage and value for money.
  • To provide a framework for the safe, efficient and cost effective use of medicines within the Trust, by developing procedures, policies and guidelines, and participating in clinical audit.
  • To participate in multidisciplinary ward-based education and training of junior doctors, pharmacists and nursing staff.
  • To provide daily ward visits to acute wards as well inputting on appropriate guidelines and attend MDT ward rounds.
  • To provide regular support to the dispensary.
