Overview

Senior Care Assistant position at HC One. Kindness is at the core of the role across Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will support residents as individuals with their own stories, giving back to the people in our care.

Job responsibilities

Please note this is a full-time night role, 8pm – 8am. Full flexibility required. Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and deliver care that provides security, dignity and independence for residents.
  • Lead and influence the care team; supervise a team of Care Assistants.
  • Assist residents with daily activities (e.g., using walking frames, meals) and communicate with residents’ families as needed.
  • Work with Registered Nurse and Care Manager to provide physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, and administer medications as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and build strong relationships within the team.
  • Contribute to personalised care plans and ensure high standards of care, with a person-centered approach, particularly for residents with dementia.
  • Strive to deliver care with kindness, energy and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications and experience

Essential: S/NVQ or Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable). Desirable: same qualifications. Experience should demonstrate ability to deliver person-centered care, especially for residents with dementia. A positive, energetic, and people-focused attitude is essential. Ability to maintain accurate records and manage time effectively.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Attend safeguarding training and undertake additional relevant training. You should be able to seek advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
