An exciting opportunity to join the Queens Hospital Burton POCT team. Please note this is a part time role (Wednesday- Friday).
Responsible for management of a technical section within the Department, directing the work of the other scientific and support staff in the day to day analytical provision of a high quality, cost effective service. Provides and coordinates specialist clinical technical services including research and audit. Developing the section in line with departmental objectives. To provide a lead role in the training and instruction of staff within their section.

To act as lead scientist, performing specialist work within their section of responsibility and advising the Operational Manager on service developments required to ensure effective, efficient and safe practices.
Responsible for the day to day management of approximately 5 WTE staff. This may be shared with other Senior BMS staff. Responsible for ensuring most cost effective use of equipment and consumables assisting the operational manager with financial and budgetary requirements. Responsible for the day to day processing of samples in the relevant section and authorisation of clinical results in order to maintain agreed KPI's.
