Responsibilities

Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is seeking a Senior Accountant. This role reports to the Assistant Controller for the UK and Ireland Region. It is a hands-on, hybrid payroll and accounting role to support the production of the books and records of the legal entities within the UK and Ireland Regions for the ALI business. The team is based in the Swindon office and is part of the larger North Western European team.

We are looking for a motivated finance individual to join the team to help with the day to day finance tasks for the Ireland business. The successful candidate will also play a key role in activities of the department supporting the Assistant Controller to ensure that accounting control is maintained, and the results are reported to group in a timely manner. You will be also responsible for the full end to end payroll processing for over 250 employees by managing the monthly payroll cycle, working closely with the payroll bureau to administer monthly changes.

As part of the UK & Ireland finance team, you will be responsible for:

Payroll
  • Processing payroll monthly changes for the legal entity and reporting these changes to the payroll bureau.
  • Checking returned data for accuracy on payslips.
  • Provide monthly reports to Finance and advising on HMRC related payments.
  • Monthly pension contributions upload to the pension providers portal.
  • Ordering monthly childcare vouchers through the providers portal and notifying finance.
Long Description
  • GAYE charity donations through payroll, upload a monthly report of collections.
  • Preparation of annual P11D benefit data and checking returned reports.
  • Management of the payslip portal, Myepaywindow. Resolving staff access issues.
  • Providing payroll advice in support of staff queries.
  • Collating Director remuneration data for finance.
  • Maintaining an audit spreadsheet showing the breakdown of monthly payroll costs.
  • Checking and approving the monthly payroll invoice.
  • Supporting financial audits, by supplying data as requested.
  • Advising all staff via email of the payroll cut off dates.
Accounting
  • Supporting the finance team during month end close to ensure timely management accounting reporting.
  • Preparing monthly prepayment and accrual journals for month end close.
  • Review of operating expenses and preparation of related Opex accruals.
  • Maintain fixed assets including additions, disposals and posting monthly depreciation.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances can be evidenced.
  • Supporting the Assistant Controller and the wider North Western European team where required.
Education / Qualifications
  • Good understanding of accountancy including double entry.
  • Good understanding of payroll items or experience processing payroll.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified/qualified (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA).
