Overview

SEND Team Manager – Location: East Midlands. Pay rate: £38 per hour. We are recruiting for an SEND team manager based in West Midlands. In this role you will play a crucial role in managing a team who are supporting settings to effectively meet the needs of children in the early years with additional needs. You will make sure parents receive the information, advice and support that they need in order to participate in the SEND decision-making process. You will ensure parents are closely involved throughout and that their insights inform action taken. The successful candidate must have experience of improving practice to support children with SEND in an early years provision. Recent experience as an EY SENCO is desirable. This role requires an immediate start and success candidate must have a full UK driving Licence with business insurance.

  • Experience supporting practitioners to be upskilled to deliver the best outcomes for children with additional needs
  • Knowledge of legislation and legal requirements to be fulfilled in relation to Early Years
  • Knowledge of the statutory requirements for Early Years
  • Knowledge of the national agenda for Early Years and SEND

In this role you will

  1. Deliver effective advice and guidance support to a range of early years settings, upskilling and empowering practitioners to meet the needs of all children through inclusive learning environments and practices
  2. Provide targeted support to settings to develop and improve inclusive provision and practice, promoting best outcomes for children
  3. Support the design and delivery bespoke training packages tailored to meet the needs of settings across the county, collaborating with a range of multi-agency professionals
  4. Create and build stronger links between settings and services within the Local Authority and wider community such as health services, social care and charitable organisations supporting children in the early years
  5. Represent the service in a range of forums and panels to advocate for settings and children, sharing intelligence where appropriate Directorate –Service 03
  6. Support, under the direction from the Team Leader, area based initiatives to accelerate the progress of children with special educational needs
  7. Support, under the direction of the Team Leader, planning for future provision and projects to raise the attainment of young children with special educational needs
  8. Investigate and challenge concerns of inequity/discrimination in a professional and supportive manner with a focus on restorative practice
  9. Fulfil responsibility to keep children safe, sharing information with appropriate agencies and taking timely action in line with local and national policy
  10. Comply with all requirements of the County Council policy and procedure, promoting equal opportunities at all times
