This specialist setting caters to both primary and secondary-aged pupils with a wide range of complex needs. The school is dedicated to creating a nurturing, structured, and engaging environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09 30
Pay: £90 - £100 per day (inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay)
Contract: Temp to Perm

SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe and supported.
  • Assist in delivering creative, individualised lessons tailored to a range of needs.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, focusing on communication, sensory integration, and emotional regulation.
  • Promote independence and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Support with personal care, physiotherapy, and other individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
What We re Looking For in SEN Teaching Assistants:
  • Experience supporting children or young people with ASD, PMLD, or SLD.

  • Strong teamworking and communication skills.
