Job Responsibilities

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

• Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to pupils with additional needs.
• Adapt and differentiate lessons to meet a range of learning requirements.
• Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, and external agencies to deliver effective interventions.
• Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, providing feedback and adjusting strategies as needed.
• Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and independence in pupils.
• Manage behaviour effectively, using strategies that foster a supportive learning environment.
• Contribute to the wider school community, upholding the inclusive ethos and values.

Qualifications/Experience

The successful SEN Teacher will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching children with SEND in a primary school setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Knowledge of effective strategies to support language, communication, and emotional regulation.
• A passion for inclusive education and supporting diverse needs.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service.
