Overview

Better places, thriving communities. We are looking for an experienced Building Assistant to work with one of Mitie's clients to conduct work that provides a multi-skilled maintenance service. The role sits within a team of 3 supported by an on-site management. We provide a wide range of facilities services to our client. PPM & Reactive works are predominantly transmitted via a CAFM system by a central helpdesk and received and administered via a hand held device. The variety of tasks and priorities encountered make it necessary for all engineers to be very flexible, physically fit and customer focused. A strong work ethic is essential to delivering the required standards. Some overtime may be required at times and will be agreed with the team as appropriate. You will be required to join the Callout rota covering reactive works outside of normal working hours.

Key details
  • 40hrs a week – 06:00/14:30 – 08:00/16:30 - 09:30/18:00 (2 week rolling period)
  • Participate with the on-call rota. Currently 2 in 6. Additional payment for on-call period.
  • Based at static site – Thorne
Main duties
  • Assist on-site management in organisation, management and co-ordination of on-site services to ensure service is maintained to the highest standard in all circumstances
  • Ability to carry out minor surveys and inspections
  • Simple Report writing is essential to the role.
  • Achieve contract SLA/KPI in all reactive / planned work orders across all service lines for the contract site.
  • To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
  • To learn, understand and comply with all MITIE & Client policies and procedures
  • To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner, using point of work risk assessments where required.
  • To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
  • To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
  • To ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements and to assist in any training of the team.
  • To perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on all associated water services equipment, including fault diagnostics and repair.
  • Participate in adherence to MITIE Quality System documentation.
  • To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
  • To understand and comply with policies and procedures.
Person Specification
  • Experience in Building maintenance and repair
  • Competent in carrying out basic repairs across multiple disciplines
  • City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications desired but not essential as training can be provided (Subject to approval)
  • Strong customer care focus
  • Good Health and Safety awareness and knowledge
  • Full driving Licence
