Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging Functional Skills lessons in English and Maths tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning requirements and EHCP targets
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and confidence
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted interventions
  • Work closely with support staff and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans
  • Promote emotional resilience and positive behaviour through consistent strategies
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and ensure the welfare of all pupils
Ideal Candidate
  • Significant teaching or tutoring experience (formal teaching qualification not required)
  • Strong understanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies for engagement
  • Ability to build positive relationships and inspire confidence in pupils
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting diverse needs
