Overview

Seismic Engineer at KBR. The Seismic Engineer will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team within the Approval Authority; the primary purpose of the role is to directly support current operations and future programmes.

Responsibilities

The role involves supporting current operations and future programmes within a multi-disciplinary engineering team. Specific responsibilities include applying seismic performance assessments, analytical and numerical methods for safety-related facilities, and contributing to the seismic design and substantiation of structures, plant and equipment.

Qualifications
  • Qualification to degree level in relevant engineering (Civil/Structural/Geotechnical) discipline.
  • Knowledge and experience of Seismic Performance, Analytical and Numerical Assessments of Nuclear safety related facilities.
  • Experience with Seismic design and substantiation of structures, plant and equipment.
  • Experience in the assessment of borehole data, soil data analysis and investigations.
  • Experience of Soil Liquefaction and associated risks.
  • Knowledge of UK statutory legislation.
  • Knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Knowledge of current UK nuclear generation and relevant good practice.
Location

The role is hybrid where 3 days per week will be spent either in the office in Glasgow City Centre or at site in Helensburgh.

Security Requirements

SC Clearance. Due to the secure nature of this project, restrictions in relation to UK residency and nationality will apply.
