Seasonal March to end of October 2026 Various hours available £13.64 per hour

High Life Highland is recruiting Seasonal Visitor Experience Assistants to join its team at the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore for the 2026 visitor season.

This role is ideal for people who enjoy working with the public, have an interest in history and heritage, and want to be part of a welcoming, supportive seasonal team.

About the role

You will help deliver a positive and engaging experience for visitors from across Scotland and around the world.

You will work across different areas of the museum depending on your role and interests.

You will be part of a team that brings Highland history to life in a unique outdoor setting within the Cairngorms National Park.

Roles are available in the following areas
  • Reception
  • Retail
  • Cafe
  • Historical Interpretation
  • Croft
  • General Site
  • Cleaning
Key responsibilities
  • You will welcome visitors and provide helpful information about the site and its history.
  • You will support day to day operations within your assigned area.
  • You will work as part of a team to maintain high standards of customer service.
  • You will help ensure the museum remains safe, clean, and welcoming for all visitors.
Working pattern

This is a seasonal role running from March to the end of October 2026.

Hours vary depending on the role and operational needs of the museum.

Work may include weekends and busy visitor periods.

What we are looking for
  • You should be friendly, enthusiastic, and enjoy working with people.
  • You should be reliable and comfortable working as part of a team.
  • An interest in heritage, culture, or visitor services is an advantage, but full training will be provided.
  • Previous experience is helpful but not essential.
  • A PVG check is not required for these roles.
