Overview

Job Title: Risk Practitioner - Nuclear Facility

Location: Near Chester (Hybrid - 3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

Contract: 12 months (initial) | Inside IR35

Rate: £70-80 per hour

Start Date: ASAP (pending security clearance / site passes)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Risk Practitioner to join a major nuclear facility near Chester. This is a highly regulated environment, requiring a professional with proven expertise in delivering risk management services in complex, safety-critical industries.

You will play a key role in developing and maintaining robust risk processes, supporting project delivery, and ensuring regulatory compliance in line with nuclear standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support project risk management activities across multiple programmes.
  • Facilitate risk workshops, ensuring clear identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks.
  • Maintain and update risk registers in line with project governance.
  • Provide quantitative risk analysis (QRA) to support project decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective risk communication.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, governance frameworks, and client requirements.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in risk management within highly regulated industries (nuclear, defence, aerospace, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of risk processes, governance, and best practice methodologies.
  • Proficiency in risk management software - ideally SAFRAN (experience with Primavera Risk Analysis or similar tools also considered).
  • Skilled in quantitative risk analysis (cost and schedule risk).
  • Experience facilitating risk workshops and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Information

This role falls Inside IR35.

Hybrid working - 3 days on-site near Chester, 2 days remote.

Initial 12-month contract, with potential for extension.

Must be able to obtain the required security clearance and site passes before starting.
