Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
Contract Type: Temporary
Duration: 6 months initially
Pay Rate: £20.08 per hour

Manpower is recruiting an experienced Retail Manager to oversee daily operations at a busy retail outlet based in Llandough.

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining stock levels and driving store performance, all while upholding the highest standards of food hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate and support the retail team to deliver excellent service and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day store operations, including opening, closing, and cash handling.
  • Manage stock control, ordering and product merchandising to maintain availability and presentation standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health and safety and company policies.
  • Handle customer queries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor sales and implement initiatives to achieve business targets.
  • Provide staff training, supervision and performance management.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming store environment at all times.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven retail management experience is essential.
  • Level 2 or 3 Food Safety Certificate is essential.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast‑paced environment.
