Job Title: Research Scientist – Immunology
Location: On site in Slough
Role Overview
Contribute to the advancement of therapeutic candidates throughout the research and clinical development pipeline. Execute translational in vitro assays to assess novel therapies, explore mechanisms of action, and uncover new therapeutic targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct functional assays for screening, mechanism-of-action studies, and target validation.
- Interpret scientific data and resolve technical challenges effectively.
- Collaborate across multiple projects, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork.
- Share findings in cross-functional meetings and ensure accurate documentation of experimental work.
- Complete required training and maintain compliance with internal procedures.
- Adhere to Human Tissue Act (HTA) regulations, ensuring all relevant policies are understood and training is current.
- Promote and maintain safe laboratory practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with immune cell functional assays such as cytotoxicity, proliferation, mixed lymphocyte reactions, and antigen recall.
- Familiarity with Fc-mediated depletion assays including ADCC, ADCP, and CDC.
- Skilled in isolating primary immune cell subsets from whole blood using FACS and MACS.
- Proficient in multi-parameter flow cytometry, including the design of complex antibody panels for immune profiling.
- Competent in data analysis using tools such as FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, Excel, and R.
- Demonstrated compliance with HTA guidelines for handling human cells and tissues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
