A local government council in Inverurie is seeking experienced individuals to join the team as Senior Coaches on a Relief basis. The role involves delivering Mountain Biking sessions as part of the Cycle Programme to schools and community events. Candidates must have a qualification in Mountain Biking coaching and demonstrate a commitment to service quality. This position offers a chance to contribute to community engagement and children's cycling confidence in Aberdeenshire.
Outdoors as part of Live Life Aberdeenshire/Aberdeenshire Council are seeking experienced individuals to join our team as Senior Coaches on a Relief basis and deliver the Mountain Biking element of our established Cycle Programme, Bringing the bike to you. We have one Relief post available as part of this recruitment phase.
Based in Inverurie, the successful candidates will be part of the wider Outdoor Team and will deliver a range of Mountain Biking activity-based cycling sessions to Primary/Secondary pupils, community events, and event support across Aberdeenshire.
This role is to ensure that our expanding programme provides high-quality and progressive sessions, using our dedicated fleet of Mountain Bikes alongside a wide range of additional equipment and options that allow us to create sessions that go beyond simply riding a bike. In addition, this role will involve the planning and delivery of sessions in terrain suitable for Mountain Biking and the respective Risk Assessments.
The programme aligns with national training programmes with the overall aim of ensuring enjoyable and safe sessions that reinforce children's confidence and enjoyment of cycling. The focus on Mountain Biking supports the wider development of the activity across Aberdeenshire and Scotland.
Candidates must be qualified to National Governing Body level in Mountain Biking or hold a similar/transferrable accredited qualification. Please note that we will deliver a participatory programme, and wider training to cover all aspects of delivery will be provided where necessary. The programme will focus on both weekdays and weekends, with occasional evening work.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
Experience of driving with a trailer would be beneficial.
