Overview

Relief General Kitchen Assistant – Cefn Cribwr Primary

Job description: Provided as and when needed, term time. Working across 56 schools in the county borough, Catering Services offer opportunities to work as a General Kitchen Assistant across the service.

Purpose of the role: Assist in the preparation, presentation and service of school meals, while ensuring a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff. You may be required to lay out dining tables and chairs and, in some schools, operate a touch screen terminal (training will be provided on start).

Location: Bridgend County Borough Council area. All duties are to be carried out in accordance with council policies and safeguarding responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, presentation and service of school meals.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.
  • Lay out dining tables and chairs as required.
  • Operate a touch screen terminal in some schools (training provided).
  • Cover at schools across the County Borough as required.
Requirements
  • Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate (training will be provided if necessary).
  • Willingness to cover multiple schools across the County Borough.
  • Working hours between 10.00am and 2.30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (to support mid-morning break and lunchtime periods). Exact hours confirmed upon appointment.
  • Enhanced DBS check (with Children's Barred List) is a requirement for this post.
