Registered Veterinary Nurse – RCVS Accredited 24‑Hour Hospital, Shrewsbury

A well‑established, RCVS‑accredited 24‑hour veterinary hospital in Shrewsbury, Shropshire is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its thriving team. With a full range of services—including professional dog grooming and on‑site hydrotherapy—the hospital is committed to delivering exceptional care to every patient that comes through its doors.

The successful candidate will enjoy a varied and engaging role. Each day offers diverse nursing responsibilities alongside opportunities to contribute to clinical coaching within the practice. They will be supported by a talented and experienced nursing team, many of whom have completed or are working toward certificates in areas such as anaesthesia and analgesia, and medical or surgical nursing.

The hospital is exceptionally well equipped, featuring advanced diagnostic tools including a CT scanner, multiparameters, K‑laser, endoscope, laparoscopic kit, and an extensive suite of laboratory equipment including an Imagyst.

This is a full‑time position of 40 hours per week, with a 1‑in‑6 full weekend rota, one bank holiday shift every 18 months, and 1–2 weeks of on‑call duties per year.

Responsibilities
  • Consistently deliver outstanding client and patient care
  • Support surgeries and procedures, including all associated pre‑ and post‑operative duties
  • Conduct nurse‑led appointments and Schedule 3 activities
  • Provide expert patient monitoring and care
  • Manage admissions, discharges, and patient transfers
  • Dispense and check medication
  • Uphold regulatory, operational, and clinical standards
  • Lead briefings to align and motivate the nursing team for effective practice operations

  • RCVS‑registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Proven experience delivering excellent patient and client care
