Job Description

Job Title: Refrigeration Engineer

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £46,791 per annum

Benefits: Company Van, Pension, Health Plan, 33 Days Holiday (including bank holidays)

Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

We are advertising this Refrigeration Engineer role on behalf of our client 'City Facilities Management'. Established in 1985, City has grown to become one of the world's largest privately held, integrated FM companies.

Job Purpose: This is a key position responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across several site locations. You will be the first point of contact for all maintenance tasks at your allocated sites. The role involves technical repairs and PPMs, ensuring all technical and compliance paperwork is completed accurately and promptly. All work must be completed to high standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, in compliance with the company's Health and Safety policies.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales, ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed according to procedures.
  2. Respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk, assess the requirements, and carry out necessary repairs.
  3. Prioritize maintenance and repair work to meet timescales and response targets.
  4. Order spares following laid-down procedures.
  5. Identify non-repairable faults and advise the Line Manager with recommendations for replacements.
  6. Ensure all compliance documentation is up-to-date.
  7. Conduct surveys and prepare reports as required by management.
  8. Perform minor alterations and installations within your technical competence, following current specifications.
  9. Attend training courses to keep skills updated with technical developments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Multiple years' experience in refrigeration, preferably in supermarket environments.
  • Flexibility in working hours and availability for on-call duties (13 weeks per year).
  • Fully qualified Refrigeration Engineer with Refrigeration Handling C&G 2079 qualification (F-Gas Qualification).
  • NVQ / C&G Level 2 in Refrigeration or equivalent.
  • Valid UK driving Licence.
  • Ability to read drawings and perform equipment diagnostics and repairs.
  • Ability to work at heights and use access equipment safely.
