Job description
Industry Researcher

Business: WeComm Group

Industries : Fashion, Retail, Beauty & Luxury

Specialisms: eCommerce, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Technology, Transformation & Digital Product

The Opportunity

At WeComm, we don’t just recruit.

We build industries, communities and careers.

The Industry Researcher role is one of the most important positions within our business. These roles are the lifeblood of our delivery model and the foundation of how we serve some of the world’s most exciting brands, including partners such as Burberry, Charlotte Tilbury, Victoria Beckham, New Balance, Flannels, Sports Direct , and many more.

This is not a traditional recruitment role.

We are not building future recruiters.

We are shaping industry connectors – people who know the market better than anyone else, build trusted relationships long before roles exist, and become recognised figures within their specialist space.

This role is demanding. It requires curiosity, resilience, emotional intelligence, consistency and real commitment. But for those who want to build something meaningful, the long‑term reward – financially, professionally and personally – is exceptional.

The Purpose of the Role

As an Industry Researcher, your mission is to :

  • Become deeply embedded in one core specialism
  • Build and nurture relationships with the absolute best people in that space
  • Deliver world‑class research and insight into live recruitment briefs
  • Create a best‑in‑class CRM ecosystem (Atlas) that captures not just CVs, but careers, ambitions, motivations and values
  • Build trusted relationships with people before they are ever looking for a role
  • Act as a connector between individuals and brands that genuinely align

This is about depth, not speed.

Quality, not volume.

Relationships, not transactions.

What You’ll Be Doing (Core Responsibilities)
Industry Mapping & Research
  • Proactively map your specialist market, identifying standout talent across levels
  • Track emerging trends, new roles, evolving skillsets and future leadership profiles
  • Build a deep understanding of how your market operates within fashion, retail, beauty and luxury
Relationship Building
  • Hold meaningful, consultative conversations with industry professionals
  • Understand individuals beyond job titles – their ambitions, values, challenges and career goals
  • Build long‑term relationships, often years before a move is made
  • Become a trusted name within your specialist community
Live Brief Delivery
  • Partner closely with Consultants and Directors on live roles
  • Deliver high‑quality, insight‑led shortlists
  • Provide market intelligence that shapes hiring decisions, not just fills vacancies
CRM & Data Excellence (Atlas)
  • Build and maintain a world‑class CRM system powered by AI
  • Ensure data quality, consistency and insight‑led profiling
  • Use Atlas as a strategic tool, not a database
  • Understand that the power of the system comes from how intelligently it’s used
Brand & Career Development
  • Work towards building a personal brand within your industry
  • Participate in a structured 12‑month training and development programme
  • Learn directly from industry leaders, internal mentors and external partnersPosition yourself as one of the future elite connectors within your market

  • Your network trusts you and engages with you proactively
  • Your CRM is rich, accurate and insight‑driven
  • Consultants rely on your market knowledge to win and deliver roles
  • Candidates see you as a career partner, not a recruiter
  • You are building long‑term value – for yourself and the business
Who We’re Looking For
  • Ambitious, energetic and driven individuals
  • Naturally curious with a genuine interest in people and industries
  • Comfortable holding intelligent, thoughtful conversations
  • High attention to detail with strong organisation skills
