A community health services provider is seeking a Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) to join their Cambridge Mental Health Support Team. This role involves providing evidence-based early interventions to support children and young people facing mental health challenges, primarily within educational settings. The ideal candidate will be qualified as an EMHP or on track to become certified by March 2026. Applicants must have the capacity to work collaboratively with a range of professionals to ensure effective support and intervention delivery.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) to join the Cambridge City and West Mental Health Support Team, a relatively new MHST with a team base in Cambridge City Centre.
The EMHP role is an opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions to parents and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors. The role requires the applicant to travel around the area to allocated schools.

The postholder, with appropriate supervision, will work as an autonomous and responsible practitioner as their training affords in educational and health care settings alongside a team of mental health professionals and within the scope of their local job description, to deliver and develop evidence-based interventions and assessments for children, young people, parents and carers.
Observe and maintain strict confidentiality with regards to any patient/family/staff/records and information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
Adhere to the Trust risk assessment and risk management processes, infection control policies and procedures, and participate in clinical and safeguarding audits.
Maintain awareness of and execute responsibilities with regard to safeguarding children, adults’ agenda, confidentiality, Trust and professional training requirements, data protection, information governance, risk management, and reporting.
Provide patients and their families/carers with information on standards they should expect from the team.
Undertake mandatory training and any other training relevant to the role as required by Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust.
Keep all records up to date in relation to Continuous Professional Development and the requirements of the post and ensure personal development plans maintain up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments.
Participate in line management & safeguarding supervision on a regular basis and participate in relevant emergency preparedness processes.
