Job Summary

This position is responsible for the programming, setup, and operation of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to ensure accurate measurement of parts and components. Working in manufacturing facilities and partnering with other technicians, quality control teams, engineers, and managers to ensure the highest precision in parts and products.

Essential Functions
  • Operate CMM to measure parts and components to meet design specifications, using software programs.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Create and maintain accurate records of measurements and inspections.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment as required.
  • Ensure CMM is working at optimal capacity for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and production teams, and assist with finding solutions to quality issues.
  • Complete inspection documentation and report discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations and quality standards.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform audits and inspections of quality systems and related records in accordance with this manual.
  • Review audit and inspection findings and recommend courses for corrective action.
  • Prepare and issue reports related to the audits and inspections performed.
  • Maintain the control and issuance of inspection stamps to qualified personnel in the absence of the CMM Operator.
  • Inspect records of all work performed in a status consistent with FAA and customer requirements.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Certified FAA Repairmen eligible (required)
  • 2 years prior experience in an inspection role (required)
  • Experience with manual measurement devices (calipers, micrometers, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain large quantities of data and information
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or Aerospace
