Project Planner

Location: Hybrid Farringdon

Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: £40,000-£65,000

Join our client’s team as a detail-oriented and proactive Project Planner, where you will play a central role in supporting projects, managed services, and networking for world-class IT infrastructural solutions delivered to some of the strongest, most recognisable global brands in data centers and Tier 1 enterprises.

Our client works across multiple sectors designing, installing, and managing structured cabling and network infrastructure solutions on a global scale. This position is part of a new structure being built out in the UK and across the wider group, offering a unique opportunity to help shape and influence how planning supports projects, managed services, and networking initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project readiness.
  • Address project plan adjustments, including EOT, compressed programming, and resource scheduling.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans for data cabling and infrastructure installations.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to define scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys and interpret technical drawings and floor plans.
  • Coordinate procurement scheduling to maintain the critical path for delivery of key materials and hardware.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, health & safety regulations, and client specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings and site visits.
  • Monitor hours and costs to identify trends and assist with forecasting.
  • Evaluate scope changes, cost trends, additional work orders, and related elements.
  • Coordinate resources and tasks to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Support the development of timetables and schedules for projects.
  • Review estimated design costs including equipment, installation, labour, and materials.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
  • Ability to work from a London office on a hybrid basis.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Clear understanding of the commercial and contractual aspects of planning.
  • Experience with a wide range of planning techniques in both tendering and contract delivery.
  • Background in infrastructure planning or project coordination within the data cabling industry (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of structured cabling systems, data centers, and network infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6 or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ECS, BICSI, CNCI, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages, including Microsoft Project and Excel.
