The Company

The Project Monitoring Officer will play a key role in supporting the Waste Strategy and Sustainability Manager in the monitoring, administration and delivery of a major waste and recycling project.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring, administering, managing and validating waste project operations.
• Undertake inspections, site visits and performance audits to ensure high standards of service and operational efficiency.
• Liaise with contractors and project stakeholders to address under performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the analysis and preparation of monitoring reports and waste data for statutory and contract management purposes.
• Attend contract and operational meetings, contributing to continuous improvement of waste-related services.
• Work flexibly across the project in line with operational demands, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery.

The Person Essential Criteria

• Experience in project monitoring, contract management or operational oversight.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Ability to conduct inspections and site-based assessments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficient in analysing data and preparing reports.

Desirable Criteria

• Knowledge or experience within waste management, environmental services or local government.
• Valid driving licence and access to transport.
• Experience working with contractors or performance-based service delivery models.

Package & Benefits

• £18.85 per hour (SO1 equivalent).
• Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm working pattern.
