As a Project Architect at HDR, you will work on projects in various sectors, focusing on Data Centre and Mission Critical projects. You’ll collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors across our Global Practice, primarily in the United Kingdom and European regions.

In the role of Project Architect for Data Centres/Mission Critical, we count on you to:

  • Apply knowledge of technical design concepts, design management skills, digital technologies, and workflow
  • Perform layout and detailing on architectural projects
  • Establish owner/client and internal meetings; participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance
  • Manage and execute design activities and produce design documentation
  • Conduct work sessions at project sites with the Project Manager and other disciplines
  • Review architectural documents for conflicts with other disciplines
  • Perform QA/QC and technical reviews
  • Write and edit architectural specifications
  • Coordinate with disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders
  • Incorporate changes into project documents
  • Provide construction contract administration as needed
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a closely related field
  • Registered Architect (ARB Registered)
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiar with related tools and processes
  • Experience in preparing and laying out architectural contract documents and specifications
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Graphic presentation skills
  • Understanding of various building contracts
  • Knowledge of building regulations and planning skills
  • Active participation in our employee-owned culture is essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in Data Centre/Mission Critical projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage workloads efficiently
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and 3D Studio Max (not required)
  • Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper
