Job Description

Outlier Projects is a climate philanthropy that accelerates frontier research to predict and prevent catastrophic climate risks. In addition to direct grantmaking, our small but highly engaged team focuses on educating others about this field of work.

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented part-time Program Assistant (on contract) to provide essential operational support. The Program Assistant will help maintain our operational processes, support program administration, and ensure our relationship management systems are up to date.

This role is ideal for a highly organised individual who excels at communication, scheduling, and database management. You will support a small team with a variety of tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This role is well-suited to early-career candidates with operational experience who want to support a small climate philanthropy.

This is a remote position. Candidates are expected to be available for 1-2 hours of meetings each week during standard US Pacific Time working hours; most other work can be conducted on the Assistant’s own time.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update our relationship management databases to ensure accurate and current information
  • Coordinate and schedule group calls, including managing calendars and sending reminders
  • Draft and send emails related to events being coordinated
  • Assist with general operational tasks such as document organisation, data entry, and file management
  • Provide additional operational support as needed to enhance team efficiency
Role Requirements
  • 1-2 years prior experience in an operational or support role
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in email communication and scheduling tools (e.g., Google Calendar, Zoom, etc.)
  • Experience with CRM and project management systems (e.g. Monday, Asana, Trello) is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest and experience in either climate or philanthropy is a plus, but not necessary
