A well-established manufacturer in the electro-mechanical sector is seeking a Production Planner & Scheduler to join their Operations team. This hands-on role requires strong ERP/MRP experience and excellent planning skills. Responsibilities include managing production schedules, collaborating with Sales and Production teams, and optimizing material availability to ensure on-time delivery. Ideal candidates will have proven experience in a manufacturing environment and a solid understanding of supply chain processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Job vacancy - Production Planner & Scheduler
Position: Production Planner & Scheduler

We're working with a well-established manufacturer in the electro-mechanical sector who is looking for a Production Planner & Scheduler to join their Operations team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong ERP/MRP experience, excellent planning skills, and a solid understanding of manufacturing environments.

You'll be responsible for managing and optimising the production schedule to ensure on-time delivery, working closely with Production, Sales, Buyers, and Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain production schedules using SAP Business One (MRP/MPS).
  • Collaborate with Sales, Production, and Buying teams to align planning with forecasts (S&OP).
  • Load and manage forecasts, works orders, and BOMs in the ERP system.
  • Monitor material availability and coordinate with Buyers to meet production needs.
  • Close down and verify completed works orders and associated stock transactions.
  • Support new product introductions and manage engineering changes (ECNs).
  • Generate planning and inventory reports (stock levels, accuracy, slow movers, etc.).
  • Deputise for Manufacturing Support Engineer (part creation, BOM maintenance).
  • Oversee and ensure completion of weekly stock cycle counts.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in production planning within an electro-mechanical or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP B1 preferred).
  • Solid understanding of supply chain processes, inventory, and stock flow.
  • Skilled in data handling, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
  • Experience with Lean tools (e.g. 5S, Kaizen, Kanban).
  • Full UK driving licence.
