A well-established engineering business in Kirkbymoorside is seeking an experienced Production Planner for a temporary 3-month contract. The candidate will be responsible for creating and managing production schedules to ensure timely project delivery, planning labor and machine capacity in collaboration with engineering and procurement teams. The ideal applicant will have a background in production planning and possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to start immediately.

The Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Production Planner to join a project‑driven engineering company in Kirkbymoorside on a 3‑month temporary basis. This role will support the planning and coordination of production activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and to schedule. You'll work closely with production, engineering, procurement, and project teams to balance workloads, materials, and capacity in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and manage production schedules to support project delivery
  • Plan labour and machine capacity in line with project requirements
  • Liaise with engineering and procurement to ensure materials are available on time
  • Monitor progress against plan and adjust schedules as needed
  • Identify potential delays or bottlenecks and work with teams to resolve them
  • Maintain accurate planning data and reports
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in a production planning or scheduling role
  • Background in engineering or manufacturing, ideally project-based
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confident using MRP/ERP systems and Excel
  • Able to hit the ground running in a short‑term role
