Role Overview

We are currently working with an successful manufacturing business who are looking to appoint a experienced Production Manager to take ownership of a growing production facility at the forefront of electromechanical manufacturing. This is an exciting role and would be an ideal opportunity for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can inspire and develop teams, and is motivated by achieving and exceeding ambitious production targets.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Director this role will be involved in leading a skilled team of 50 heads and oversee the full end-to-end process: from internal logistics and sub-assemblies to final electromechanical assembly. This role will play a central role in shaping the future of the site, embedding lean manufacturing practices, and driving continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and Optimise Production, take full ownership of production processes, driving improvements across logistics, sub-assemblies, and final assembly to deliver efficiency, quality, and output.
  • Plan and Deliver Results, Translate the master schedule into effective production plans. Align resources, set priorities, and ensure delivery targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Maximise Resources, Deploy people, equipment, and materials effectively to keep operations running smoothly and cost-efficiently.
  • Monitor and Adapt, Track production performance, resolve bottlenecks quickly, and adjust plans dynamically to maintain flow and meet deadlines.
  • Champion Quality, Uphold the highest standards, ensuring every product meets strict specifications and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Drive a Safety-First Culture, Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements, creating a safe workplace for everyone.
  • Collaborate Across Teams, Build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and internal customers to keep processes aligned and efficient.
  • Inspire and Develop Your Team, Lead by example. Train, mentor, and motivate staff, creating a positive culture where people thrive and perform at their best.
  • Deliver Continuous Improvement, Apply Lean Manufacturing and other best practices to reduce waste, improve productivity, and create a culture of excellence.
What You'll Bring
  • A proven track record of leading and developing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of one-piece flow electromechanical production.
  • Practical knowledge of internal logistics and ensuring materials are always in the right place at the right time.
  • Proficiency with MRP systems and strong IT skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and best practice.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound, timely decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Ideally, a relevant Health and Safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).
