Overview

Shape the Future of our cities and environments. Principal Electrical Engineer sought to drive electrical engineering on Transformational Programmes for critical UK infrastructure, with opportunities on iconic projects at home and abroad. We specialise in electrical engineering across sectors including Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy, Cities & Development and Education, providing solutions through the project lifecycle and client-side support as well as during construction. This opportunity is based in our Cardiff office.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, achieving high-quality levels.
  • Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
  • Manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
  • Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
What you can bring (Qualifications)
  • Chartered Electrical Engineer.
  • Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical design (LV and HV systems), motor control centres/switchgear, electrical installations and systems within industrial/process environments, HAZOP assessments, DSEAR/ATEX installation practice, production of SLD/BCDs, earthing and bonding, and familiarity with current UK design standards, including industry-specific standards and working practices.
  • Proficiency in designing with appropriate digital analysis packages, following local guidance. E.g. electrical design software such as Trimble/Amtech.
