Job summary
A healthcare provider in Tees Valley is seeking a professional to carry out standard and specialised Treatment Room procedures. Responsibilities
- Carry out standard Treatment Room procedures including sutures, dressings, and immunisations.
- Assist with minor operations, ECGs, and audiometry.
- Involvement in Public Health initiatives like alcohol awareness and smoking cessation.
- Maintain hygiene standards and prevent cross infections.
- Record patient information and assist in health promotion activities.
Responsibilities
- Carry out standard Treatment Room procedures: removal of sutures/clips, dressings, venepuncture, standard medical measurements, ear syringing, immunisation and other injections and travel advice, urine testing, new registration health checks.
- Carry out specialised procedures: sterilisation and infection control, setting up and assisting with minor operations, ECGs and ABPMs, audiometry, long term conditions reviews, cervical cytology screening, cryotherapy, primary prevention reviews including healthy heart (and calculating CVD risk using Q-risk).
- Involvement in Public Health: alcohol awareness, smoking cessation, weight management, cancer awareness, learning disabilities reviews.
- Other duties: may be required to act as a chaperone; maintain the highest standard of hygiene and the prevention of cross infection to patients and other members of the Primary Healthcare Team.
- Administration: record all relevant patient information on computer, monitor and record accurate data in relation to QOF targets; complete nurse-related paperwork; ensure treatment room records are maintained efficiently; assist in organising preventative measures (e.g., flu vaccination, health promotion activities); liaise with colleagues to order and maintain stocks of drugs and equipment necessary for the day-to-day running of the treatment rooms.
- Attendance and development: attend staff meetings, clinical meetings and staff training as appropriate; responsible for your own continued personal development; professional registration is your own responsibility and you will be expected to follow the U.K.C.C. Code of Professional Conduct; may be required to perform other related duties from time to time.
